George Black, chair of Glasgow 2026, stated the ceremony would mark the second town welcomes athletes from throughout the Commonwealth.

Louisa Mahon, chief advertising and marketing and ceremonies officer, stated the occasion can be a “fast-paced, immersive reside expertise”.
