Argentina winger Gianluca Prestianni is dealing with the prospect of lacking his nation’s opening World Cup matches. This comes after FIFA expanded his six-game suspension for homophobic conduct globally. The suspension was initially imposed by UEFA as a consequence of a slur directed at Actual Madrid’s Vinicius Jr. throughout a Champions League conflict.
The FIFA Disciplinary Committee prolonged the ban worldwide, as requested by UEFA, aligning with article 70 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code. A FIFA spokesperson confirmed the choice to Reuters. If chosen, Prestianni will miss Argentina’s first two World Cup fixtures.
Regardless of having restricted worldwide expertise, the 20-year-old has already missed a Champions League match as a result of provisional suspension. Argentina will start their World Cup journey towards Algeria, adopted by video games towards Austria and Jordan.
